Sample APIs

Free APIs that always answer, for trying an API client, a tutorial or a test. Nothing is saved: writes are checked and answered but not kept, unless you send X-Sandbox: <name> to keep them in memory for one hour. Specs in OpenAPI 3.0 and 3.1, Swagger 2.0, Postman and .http.

Star Wars API
People, planets, films, species, vehicles and starships, with the same paths and answers as swapi.dev, so you can change only the host. https://swapi.xample.in/api/
Petstore API
The Swagger Petstore v3 shape: pets, store orders and users, JSON or XML answers, JSON, XML or form bodies. https://openapi.xample.in/petstore/

Open any OpenAPI, Swagger, HAR or Postman file the same way: https://asra.io/tools/dev/#/integrations/outgoing/import?url= followed by the file's URL (URL-encoded).

Prefer MCP? Connect any Model Context Protocol client (Claude, Cursor and others) to https://asra.io/tools/mcp (Streamable HTTP). It has whoami, geoip_lookup, qr_code (make a QR code) and qr_decode (read the QR codes in a PNG, JPEG or GIF image), link_preview (how a page's link shows in Slack, X, LinkedIn and other apps, with its SEO tags), and the developer tools themselves: devtools_list, devtools_run and pipeline_run run the same code as /tools/dev/ (the tools that need no browser; input up to 1 MB, 5 seconds a call, 30 calls a minute). The input reaches our server for that call and is not kept.
